I was stoked to find that Green Leaf Sushi has opened a second location in Burnaby called Green Leaf Cafe. This restaurant has the popular aburi oshi as well as new cafe style items such as omurice and pasta. Here’s a look at my first dinner at Green Leaf Cafe.
Mr. Chau and I stumbled upon Qin Ma Grill (秦媽吾家) on our way to Metropolis Comics and Toys on Kingsway across from Metrotown. We’ve never heard of this restaurant before but what caught my eyes were the serving vessels. Since we’re already here, we might as well give them a try right? Here’s what we ate for lunch.
Afternoon tea is the perfect time to catch up with friends. Since both Ms Liao and I live in Burnaby, we decided to try the afternoon tea offerings from November Dessert. Located a few doors away from Sugar Lab, November Dessert is a new dessert cafe in the Royal Oak area. They offer a half-size and a full-size afternoon tea set. Let’s take a look at what’s included!
La Forêt cafe is one of the newest addition to the Metrotown neighbourhood in Burnaby. From all the beautiful photos on Instagram, it looked like it has an extensive menu of sweet and savoury foods. So I recently visited twice to check out their space and offerings.
Sugar Lab is one of the dessert places that have recently opened up in Burnaby. They are especially known for their mille crêpe cakes. Besides cakes, Sugar Lab also have other shaved ice, Chinese sweet soups and a variety of milk teas and slushy drinks. Curious to see how their cakes and desserts compare to others, I visited Sugar Lab twice recently with Mr. Chau. Take a look at the items we’ve tried.
